Assignment & Vision
„Never again a war between the people of Europe!" - that was the lesson learned out of the horrible past by young engaged Europeans of the first hour. The deathful antagonism of the nation states was supposed to be replaced by a liberal federation of the European people. With this objective they founded the first European education centre in 1951 in the region „Hoher Westerwald" for the young generation of our continent - the Europe House Marienberg.

Till today the Europe House Marienberg as an international acknowledged institution of non-formal youth and adult education is with its information and education work strongly committed to promote the federal integration of Europe in touch with the people.
The Europe House Marienberg defines itself as a platform for discussion and information. On a partnership basis with the participants of the seminars, trainings, conferences and gatherings we make a critical dialogue about current European affairs possible.
„It shall be the whole Europe, in freedom and peace, justice and solidarity" is our vision - not only the Europe of the founding six. We are supporting people from all over Europe, from every region of our continent, to develop together a better future for our Europe and to deepen the understanding between the people.
The Europe House Marienberg is the host of up to 140 conferences, seminars trainings and youth gatherings about European issues throughout the year. The main activity of the foundation are seminars about the European Union and current European problems and questions. The participants come from all over Europe to discuss these topics, work out solutions for further European understanding and to live in an international environment to minimise prejudices and stereotypes.
